Below you will find insight into the selection process for the USA Inline National Development Program (NDP), a prestigious initiative aimed at fostering the next generation of inline hockey talent. As a key steppingstone for young players aspiring to represent the USA at the highest levels, the program offers unparalleled exposure and development opportunities. Here’s how the election process works:
- Initial Invites: Players who were chosen for Team World (in the older birth year of the division) the prior summer at State Wars are given first priority for invitations to participate in the USA Inline NDP Showcase. This gives top-tier athletes a chance to continue their development within our system.
- Player Evaluations: Beyond the initial invites, we evaluate players at major events like State Wars Tryouts and Player Development Clinics, as well as other regional and national competitions that our NDP scouts attend. Our scouts carefully assess each player's skill, potential, and sportsmanship.
- Ongoing Development: It’s important to note that players are not guaranteed a spot in the USA NDP each year. Every athlete progresses and develops at different intervals, and our goal is to ensure the program remains focused on nurturing future talent. By continually evaluating and adjusting selections, we ensure that players who demonstrate progress and dedication are provided with the opportunities they’ve earned.
The ultimate goal of the USA Inline NDP is to offer these players exposure, help them develop to their fullest potential, and prepare them for the next level—particularly the Junior Men’s & Junior Women’s National Teams. We take great pride in this process and are committed to providing young athletes with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the world of inline hockey.
